🧩 Phrasify is a word game that asks you to fill in phrases, puns, and platitudes by guessing all of the 5-letter words in the puzzle.

If you've found yourself on this website, you're probably someone who enjoys a good word game or two.

Well, I've got a treat for you.

Phrasify isn't just a clone of some other incredibly popular game; it's a game that's been designed from the ground up to be the best five-letter word guessing game you've ever played.

  • Play our Phrase of the Day with a new puzzle released at midnight
  • Show off your progress with easily exported stats and achievements
  • (Soon) Follow other puzzlemasters from our community to play their puzzles
  • (Soon-ish) Create your own puzzles to share with friends, familiy, and fans
  • (Also soon) Compete with other players on the leaderboards or skip the scores and just have some fun
  • (Aspirationally soon) Refine your game with in-depth stats and insightul data points across all players

Phrasify will always have a free version and will never force you to pay to experience the best parts of the game. That is an annoying way to make money and I'm not interested in that.

However, there will be paid tools for people who want to create their own puzzles and experiences. If you're interested in the paid things, please contact me and I'll let you know when they are available.

How to Play

It's simple: fill in the letters to one or more five-letter words

You get six attempts to solve each word. If you fail to guess one of the words, then the game is over.

To make a guess, type in a 5-letter word and press enter. The color of the tiles will change to give you hints to what the word is.

Possible Results

Some of these phrases are common, some are not. Some are turbo puns. Some might be a little bit of a stretch. But they are all fun to play!

There is two general strategies for picking your first guesss at a word: either pick the word that you think will eliminate the most letters or, if you are a pychopath, pick a word that you think is the most likely to be correct.

At the end of the game, you'll get a score, your time, and some stats about your history. The score is based on the average number of guesses it took you, plus a bonus point if you get a word in just one guess.

Tip: if you get stuck on one word, you can use the arrows to swap to another word. You don't have to finish a word to start on another.

Another tip: there are a handful of common starting words that help eliminate frequently used letters. I suggest adieu, arise, or snare.

When to Play

Every day is a better day when you finish it with a game of Phrasify So, play every day!

Right now, there is really only the Phrase of the Day which you can play by going to phrasify.app (not dot com or dot xyz or dot whatever...it's dot app for now). The new puzzle will go live around midnight CST every day.

More ways to get more puzzles are on their way. In fact, it should be easy for you to create your own phrases or collection of phrases to share with friends, family, and fans.

I want Phrasify to be a part of your daily life, but I'm designing the game with some modicum of moderation. After all, there exists a healthy medium between one puzzle a day and binging 100 games on the toilet and then your legs going numb. Elvis died on a toilet, you know.

The Creator of Phrasify

Hi, it's Flip! I'm the handsome dude behind Phrasify's code and puzzles

I was raised by a mom who loved any type of puzzle and a dad who loved to write code (and make up his own rules). It's only fitting that one day I'd try to make my own puzzle game for the internet, I suppose. Phrasify is some combination of word games that everyone is already familiar with, but hopefully feels unique.

Right now, Phrasify is a passion project of mine. The theory is that people will love to personalize basic games and share them with their friends, family, and fans. I've also made a fun way to challenge the entire internet to a game of Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock which you can play at rpslk.link

I really do hope you enjoy playing it and consider sharing it with your friends. Thanks for reading this far down on the page; you're a real one and I won't forget you when I'm the next Scott Rogowsky of word puzzles.
